The second annual 5K/10K Neuse River Bridge Run (NRBR) will be held October 21st in historic downtown New Bern, North Carolina. This event marks the second time local non-profits have joined forces to hold a community-wide fundraiser. The inaugural event raised over $3,500 for each of the twelve participating agencies, and officials hope to double that figure in 2006.

Proceeds from NRBR will benefit the overall health of our community through the following charities: Craven Regional Medical Center Foundation (Breast Cancer Funds), Community Coalition Against Family Violence, Craven Arts Council & Gallery, Inc., Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Bern, Inc., Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina, MERCI Clinic, Inc., Craven County Partners in Education, Inc., Religious Community Services of New Bern, Inc., Twin Rivers YMCA, Senior Pharmacy Program (Division of Catholic Social Ministries of the Diocese of Raleigh, Inc.), Craven Community College Foundation, and Coastal Women’s Shelter, Inc.
