This course takes you through some of historic business and residential neighbors of downtown Carthage, NC

Pre-registered participants may pick-up their event packet and t-shirt on Friday, May 20th from 9am-6pm at the Moore County Chapter 83 Home, 1020 Priest Hill Rd, Carthage, NC. The DAV Chapter Home building is located right off Hwy 15-501. Additional registrations will also be processed during this time.
Moore County Veterans Memorial Park, On-site Registration- 7:00am-8:45am, Opening Remarks- 8:45am, 5K Run/Walk-9:00am, Post-Race Picnic in the Park- 9:15am-11:00am, Awards- 10:00am
The 5K course will start at the Moore County Veterans Memorial Park, wind its way through downtown historic Carthage and then end back at the park. The course is on paved roads and includes rolling hills. One water/aid station will be available near the half-way mark. On the course, please be aware of your surroundings at all times. Traffic safety volunteers will be available to assist. Strollers are allowed.
Overall Male, Overall Female, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place will receive $$$ awards: $150/$75/$50. Male and Female in the following age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over will receive race medallions for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
The DAV Memorial 5K is awarding both Participation and Performance points in the Sandhills Race Series. Extra Performance points will be awarded for this event: Overall Male/Female 1st Place – 75 points, 2nd Place – 65 points, 3rd Place – 55 points. The DAV is a patriotic run honoring our men and women of the United States Armed Services and recognizing the needs of America's disabled veterans and their families. All runners and walkers are encouraged to wear red, white and blue or military attire to show their patriotic spirit. A spirit prize will be awarded to the most festive participant.
Refreshments will be available for participants. In addition to fresh fruit and water, DAV volunteers will be serving hot dogs and burgers for a post-race picnic.
Moore County Veterans Memorial Park is located adjacent to a shopping center with plenty of on-site parking.
